11. Lake Shore Drive – Aliotta Haynes Jeremiah
Chicago is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and much of its beauty
is due to the picturesque shoreline of Lake Michigan. Surrounded by parks,
offering a view of the classic Chicago skyline and just feet from Lake Michigan,
Lake Shore Drive is one of the most scenic highways in America. For many Cubs
fans (at least those willing to pay game- day parking prices), Lake Shore Drive
is also their main route to Wrigley Field. “Lake Shore Drive,” released in 1971,
pays homage to this famous lakefront highway. It was written and performed by
Aliotta Haynes Jeremiah.
This three- member band from West Allis, Wisconsin was originally made up of
bassist Mitch Aliotta, drummer Ted Aliotta and guitarist Skip Haynes. After the
departure of Ted Aliotta, John Jeremiah joined the band, allowing the creation
of their signature name.
